Raneen Zubeideh: The importance of Palestinian identity

Raneen Zubeideh, our Chief Advocacy Director, graduated this fall with a degree in History and Political Science. Congratulations Raneen!

"As a Palestinian-American woman, I grew up seeing my people murdered and displaced on the news. My family has told me their stories; from tortures to being shot, the Palestinian struggle is one that runs through my blood. Although I have never been to my homeland, being Palestinian is something you have to hold close, especially when your identity in itself is a point of extreme controversy. It is essential we care for Palestinians, and provide them with the goods needed to survive. Their human rights are violated every day, and war crimes are continuously occuring."
